Biomedical Technology Department

Servicing over 20,000 pieces of equipment across all of our hospitals, biomedical technologists (biomeds) help to maintain and improve patient health and safety through the maintenance and repair of medical equipment.

Biomeds work closely with vendors, clinical staff and other departments at Hamilton Health Sciences such as our health information technology services and engineering.

In addition to the maintenance and repair of equipment, the biomed department also supports the acquisition of new equipment and managing device alerts.

Their in-house services are a great asset to our hospitals, allow for faster turnaround on repairs as well as saving money.
