This tutorial will shows you -especially those adults new to junk journal crafting, scrap-booking and other paper crafts - how to get natural looking torn papers, tears and ripped paper effect for your crafting projects. Two ways are demonstrated, as well as a walk through of how I made my own deckle edge, tear, rip ruler.

Please BE CAREFUL when using cutting knives to carve out grooves in ruler.

In Part 2 I will walk you through my entire carving process for a tear ruler from start to finish and how to do it safely.
