We have been asked for a turbo that is fast spooling, and responsive enough to provide similar characteristics to the stock IS38 turbocharger form IHI - BUT with the capability to provide enough HP without having to upgrade the fuel system. This turbocharger is the result of months of work, and features a larger AR turbine and compressor housing compared to the stock IHI IS38 turbocharger. The compressor is a forged aluminium piece, and the turbine wheel is a solid disc back design with a dual ball bearing rotating assembly which utilises silicon nitride balls.

The turbocharger is tested and run for around 12000kms so far on 1.8bar gauge pressure with 95octane (South African fuels are more like 90octane) with AEM WMI using a 0.5mm nozzle, TurboDirect S.A Downpipe, Turbodirect S.A Bolt on Intercooler and charge pipe upgrade and no other mods. We produced 480HP on the dyno and the cars using a stock clutch pack. We use GT Innovation tuning, and TCU flash.

The exhaust is 100% stock behind the DP, and the entire intake system including the airbox is stock standard.
