"What is a Colour?: Scientific Opinion about Colour and Colour Measurement" (David Briggs)

This video is the second part of a webinar hosted by the NSW Division of the Colour Society of Australia to celebrate AIC International Colour Day 2020 and to mark the forthcoming release of the "Routledge Handbook of Philosophy of Colour" in June of this year. This massive and important book project was co-edited by Dr Derek H. Brown and Professor Fiona Macpherson from the Department of Philosophy and the Centre for the Study of Perceptual Experience at the University of Glasgow. In the first part at    • "Colour Subjectivisms: What, Why, and...   , Derek Brown discussed the Routledge project and presented a very accessible overview of philosophy of colour. In this second part David Briggs explains current orthodox scientific opinion about colour and colour measurement based on his chapter in the Handbook, "Colour Spaces".
