Grindhouse meets the Italian Western in Ferdinando Baldi's legendary BLINDMAN, shot at Cinecitta, Rome, and in Southern Spain in 1971. Tony Anthony plays a blind bounty hunter in the ZATOICHI vein. Hired to bring 50 mail-order brides to miners in Texas, our hero is betrayed by his partners and forced to confront a horde of murderous bandits and the Mexican Army in order to fulfill his contract. His principal adversary is Candy, a bandido played by Ringo Starr.

With more lewd content than the average Spaghetti Western, BLINDMAN has much in common with contemporary Italian detective and horror films. A veritable Boedekker's guide to the Almeria Western locations in their heyday, it features tremendous production design by Gastone Carsetti, and a fine cameo by Raf Baldassare as "El General."
