With software update version 6.50 Garmin enabled a new descent vertical navigation in the GTN 750/650 navigators called VNAV that is enabled when paired a the G500 TXi/G600 TXi, G500/G600 or G5. Within the GTN, pilots can easily enter altitude constraints on the flight plan page to set-up a vertical descent profile.

VNAV replaced a simpler tool called VCALC that was used to calculate a vertical rate required to hit a specified altitude over one waypoint.

This video describes how to use the new VNAV feature to mimic the old VCALC functionality.
