The cult Irwin Allen space series we all know gets axed in 1968. Why did it end? Another LIS season was in the works but CBS suddenly demanded the budget be cut in year four. Producer Irwin Allen would not stand for it. So that was the end of LIS.

1968 saw the end of LIS, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Adam West Batman!
