A dark, fierce and drone heavy version of the classic Scottish ballad, "The Lowlands of Holland", Food for the Wyrm style.

Of a lineage of folk ballads known as “anti-conscription songs”, “The Lowlands of Holland” tells the tale of a woman whose newly wedded husband has been kidnapped, or “impressed” by the British Government to serve in the royal navy. The man’s ship is lost at sea, leaving the woman bereaved, sullen and disillusioned:
“There shall neither coif come on my head, nor comb run through my hair There shall neither coal nor candlelight shine in my bower mare”
Originally recorded in the live room at Analogue Catalogue Studios in rural Ireland with Chad Martin (electric guitar, synthesizer) and Tom Kenny ((bodhran and shruti box), the song was finalized with mixing and post production taking place in Ventura, California at Castaway 7 Studios.
