Australia's primary international airline Qantas plans on offering nonstop flights to Heathrow from cities like Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne in 2027. However, while the Airbus A350-1000 it plans on using might be able to make it, the airline might not make money. That's because of high operating costs, potential issues with revenue, and competition from airlines like Emirates and Singapore Airlines. British Airways has taken note of this and has decided against such flights.

Qantas is betting everything on Project Sunrise. But if it fails then we might be stuck with Singapore to Newark & JFK as the world's longest flight.
