🌎 A destination for Arts & Culture 3 hours North of Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦, New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA) presents a Soundportrait of Jo Jo VanderSchee composed by Jørgen Teller. Video shows the entire process from first meeting to sound recording to performance of an impromptu experimental sound composition.

Soundportraits are one-on-one sonic explorations between individuals from the public and visiting artist Jørgen Teller from Copenhagen, Denmark. Teller will collaborate with visitors to his sound tent over a twenty minute session and produce from that a spontaneous sound portrait of individuals living in or visiting South River and the surrounding communities.

This Soundportrait happened at the NAISA North Media Arts Centre in South River, Ontario, Canada. Teller made more Soundportraits at Mikisew Provincial Park and The Crystal Cave during his visit to South River. Those can be heard at   / soundportraits-naisa-teller  

New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA) is a sound-based media arts organization close to Algonquin Park. NAISA presents sound sculptures, transmission art, electroacoustic music, videomusic, new art, and the art of sound, through performances, exhibitions, broadcasts, and 3 annual festivals: Sound Travels, Deep Wireless, and SOUNDplay. Operating since 2001, NAISA is partially funded by Ontario Arts Council, The Canada Council for the Arts, and The Department of Canadian Heritage.
