About Third Theatre:

The Third Theatre is an NGO with a mission to provide a new dimension to the Mime, Acting and Traditional Indian Theatrical movement. It is an NGO with its philosophy to mould virtuous individuals and a dream to usher in a bright future for all mankind. Its motto is "Together we can, together we will".

The journey so far-

Since its inception in the year 2012, Third Theatre and its branches have been immensely contributing towards the field of Art and Culture specially in promoting the art of Mime among youth of Assam and North East by organising various workshops, street dramas, events and seminars etc. In the last 10 years Third Theatre has performed many Mime acts such as 'Tumi Avatar 'The Real Society', Lord Krishna', 'Bohemian' etc. in many parts of India. Third Theatre with their gems of students participated in the International Theatre Festival held at Orissa in September, 2013 and brought laurels to Assam Third Theatre has performed in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th National Mime Festival 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2022 respectively organized by Mime Academy, Guwahati in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture Govt. of India and the performance were highly acclaimed. The team Third Theatre has produced short films 'Hope, eti asha', 'Mask is must', 'Go Corona Go' and few ad films in the recent years. Carrying forward the legacy team Third Theatre has organised this 1st National Mime Fastival 2024, in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Government of India,
from 09th & 10th February, 2024 at Gauhati commerce College Auditorium, Chandmari, Guwahati

Recently two of our students namely Gayatree Mudoi and Dhanapriya Singha have been awarded for the Junior National Scholarship in Mime from the CCRT under the Ministry of Culture, New Delhi.
