Built in summer of 2021, this lift completely transformed the ski experience at 49 Degrees North. The old lift, a 1972 SLI/Riblet hybrid that parallels the new one, had become known for its long & slow ride to the summit, (Video here:    • 49 Degrees North: Old Chair 1/Bonanza (197...  ) and had become expensive to maintain, was difficult to source parts for, and had suffered from reliability issues towards the end of its life & will be removed this spring. The lift uses EJ chairs with child friendly footrests, Agamatic/AG-104 single position detachable grips, a UNI-G M bottom tension return, & a UNI-G S top drive with an incredible 900HP motor.

NSX has been nothing short of a dream for 49N, guests and staff alike are amazed by the fast ride & comfort of the chairs. The lift has in a sense revitalized 49N as the clientele had grown sick of the old lift and basically being only able to lap the upper mountain from the SLI's mid station as the 14 minute ride from the bottom got very old very fast. The new lift eliminates that issue and makes 49's long cruisers very lappable while providing a 7 minute ride to the top with some incredible views along the way. Overall, it's quite possibly the coolest thing to be able to see the mountain I grew up skiing & my family working at get it's first high speed, and it will service 49N very well for many decades to come, welcome to the family Northern Spirit!
