Kutna Hora with five-naved St. Barbara's Church: UNESCO World Heritage site in Czech Republic

Kutná Hora (Czech pronunciation: [ˈkutnaː ˈɦora]; German: Kuttenberg) is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 22,000 inhabitants. The center of Kutná Hora, including the Sedlec Abbey and its ossuary, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 because of its outstanding architecture and its influence on subsequent architectural developments in other Central European city centers
Kutná Hora is known for the Gothic St. Barbara's Church with medieval frescoes and flying buttresses. Also notable is Sedlec Ossuary, a chapel adorned with human skeletons. It is estimated that the ossuary is decorated with bones of more than 40,000 skeletons. On the site of a former Cistercian monastery is the Gothic and baroque Cathedral of the Assumption. The Czech Museum of Silver recalls the city’s silver-mining history with a replica medieval mine. We visited Czech Republic in June 2024 renting car for 7 days and we started our family of five trip (~ 1500 km) from Prague all over the country visiting 14 out of 17 UNESCO word Heritage sites in Czech Republic.
