Ben Kramer was a professional boat racer who achieved great success during the 1980s. He won numerous national and world championships and became one of the most well-known names in the sport. However, it was later revealed that Kramer was involved in drug trafficking and other criminal activities. He was indicted in 1986 on charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and was ultimately sentenced to over 15 years in federal prison. In 1987, Kramer was also charged with the murder of Don Aronow, the founder of Cigarette boats.
