One Pot Rasam Rice 🍚

Ingredients:
✅ 1/2 Cup Rice
✅ 1/2 Cup Toovar Dal
✅ 1 Big Onion (roughly chopped)
✅ 1 Big Tomato (roughly chopped)
✅ 7-8 Cloves of Garlic (roughly chopped)
✅ 3-4 Green Chillies (finely chopped)
✅ 2 Dry Red Chillies
✅ Few Curry Leaves
✅ 1 Lemon-Sized Ball of Tamarind (soaked in 1/2 cup water)
✅ 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
✅ 1 Bayleaf
✅ 1/2 tsp Haldi Powder
✅ 1 tsp Dhaniya Powder
✅ 1/4 tsp Hing
✅ 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
✅ 1/4 tsp Jeera
✅ 2 tbsp Rasam/Sambar Powder
✅ 2 tsp Oil + Ghee (for tadka)
✅ Coriander Leaves (for garnishing)
Method:
1. Soak Dal & Rice for half an hour.
2. Heat Ghee and Oil in a Pressure Cooker.
3. Add Mustard Seeds, Jeera, Curry Leaves, Hing, Dry Red Chilli, Green Chillies & Bayleaf. Stir for a few seconds.
4. Add Onions and cook for 1 min. Then add Tomatoes, Salt, Haldi Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Dhaniya Powder, Rasam Powder, mix well and cook for 2-3 mins.
5. Add Soaked Dal & Rice along with 3 cups of water and 1 cup Tamarind Water.
6. Close the lid and take one whistle on high flame, then lower the flame and cook for 5 mins or till done.
7. Adjust the consistency by adding hot water.
