PARKING JUSTICE: WRONG WAY WARRIOR

Описание к видео PARKING JUSTICE: WRONG WAY WARRIOR

According South Carolina Code § 56-5-2560: "...every vehicle stopped or parked upon a roadway where there are adjacent curbs shall be so stopped or parked with the right-hand wheels of such vehicle parallel to and within eighteen inches of the right-hand curb." For whatever reason, IDIOTS all over Charleston think that any direction they point their vehicles to park is ok. So what's the big deal? you may be asking? So what if some idiot wants to park the other way? Basically, it comes down to a matter of safety. Having the direction of parking uniform with the flow of traffic makes the streets more predictable for everyone -- drivers, pedestrians, bikes, etc. If a vehicle is parked against the flow of traffic, then it had to be driving on the wrong side of the street when it parked. And then, when the driver pulls out of the parking spot, the vehicle will be facing traffic on the wrong side of the street again, which could be dangerous in part, because the driver won't have a complete view of oncoming traffic. Also, parking with the flow of traffic helps to maintain a smoother traffic flow. So anyone who parks against the flow of traffic on a city street is an idiot. You deserve all the parking tickets you get. And I'm really glad that Charleston's Parking Enforcement Division officers are so 1) professional, 2) diligent, and 3) efficient in their administration of parking justice.
