Hardeep Singh Puri On Divestment In Oil & Gas Sector, GST On Petrol & More

Oil & Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri addressed an extensive press conference on Tuesday as he assumed charge of the ministry. In his plans for the new term, the Minister affirmed that the government is not in favour of stake sales in state-run oil firms. This comes after the government scrapped the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) divestment process as there was just one bidder left in the fray after the two others dropped out due to their inability to tie up funds for the acquisition.
