Verona, Italy - Sights in Verona City

The City of Verona in Italy is famous for the story of Romeo and Juliet where you can visit both their houses. But the old city of Verona offers even more with many sights, small alleys and wonderful buildings like the Arena of Verona or a lot of churches.
The most famous place is the Pizza delle Erbe in the center of the old city. There you will find a lot of restaurants and quite a few people. If you like it more relaxing (and probably the food is better too) you should consider going in one of the side streets.
The best view over the city is no doubt from the hill of San Pietro and the castle there. You can pass through the Ponte Pietra and in just a few steps you are up or if you enjoy a short ride with the funicular that's a good way too.
In any case the city is great and worth a visit and if you have enough of the city life the Gardssee is always just a short travel time away - so make it your travel destination for 2021.

Verona in Italien ist den meisten bekannt aufgrund der Geschichte von Romeo und Julia mit dem bekannten Romeo- und Julia-Haus. Die Altstadt Verona bietet aber noch viel mehr an Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie kleine Gässchen, wunderbare Bauwerke wie das Ampitheater (Arena von Verona) oder zahlreiche Kirchen.
Der bekannteste und zentralste Platz in der Altstadt ist die Piazza delle Erbe. Dort reihen sich die Touristenlokale aneinander und herrscht reges Treiben. Ruhiger und (vermutlich auch besser) isst man jedoch in den Seitengassen.
Den schönsten Ausblick auf die Altstadt hat man vom Hügel San Pietro bzw. von der Burg aus. Man gelangt schnell über die Ponte Pietra und einige Stufen auf eine schöne Aussichtsplattform. Alternativ kann man auch eine kurze Zahnradbahnfahrt zum Aussichtspunkt nehmen.
Jedenfalls ist die Stadt einen Besuch Wert und wenn man von der Stadt genug hat ist der Gardasee nicht weit - also ein perfektes Reiseziel für einen Ausflug in 2021.
