Book of Exodus 35 - Bible Lessons - Reflection of Our Love and Obedience to God

Our Channel called God's Promises will focus will be on all the bible verses past & present! We are devoted to bringing you daily inspirational messages.

Exodus 35 is focused on the preparation and construction of the Tabernacle, the sacred tent where God will dwell among the Israelites. Here is a verse by verse analysis of the chapter:

Verse 1-3: Moses reminds the Israelites of the Sabbath and that they are not to do any work on that day.

Verse 4-9: Moses instructs the people to bring a freewill offering to the Lord for the construction of the Tabernacle. The people respond generously and bring an abundance of materials, including gold, silver, bronze, and precious stones.

Verse 10-19: The leaders of the community oversee the collection of the materials and the construction of the Tabernacle. The people also bring their skills and talents to create the necessary items for the Tabernacle, such as fine linen, goat hair, and acacia wood.

Verse 20-29: The people continue to bring their offerings to contribute to the construction of the Tabernacle. Skilled craftsmen are also called upon to create the sacred garments for the priests, including the ephod, breastpiece, and robe.

Verse 30-35: Moses appoints Bezalel and Oholiab as the chief craftsmen for the Tabernacle. These men are filled with the Spirit of God and are gifted in their abilities to create the necessary items for the Tabernacle.

Symbolism:

The freewill offerings given by the people demonstrate their generosity and willingness to give back to God.
The skill and craftsmanship required for the construction of the Tabernacle reflect the importance and sacredness of the dwelling place of God among the Israelites.
Bezalel and Oholiab being filled with the Spirit of God represents God's empowerment of individuals to use their talents and abilities for His purposes.


In this chapter, we see the Israelites respond to the call of God to contribute willingly towards the construction of the tabernacle. The people were stirred in their hearts and spirits to give generously and willingly, and they brought various materials and skilled labor to offer for the work of the tabernacle. We can learn from this that God desires for us to give willingly and generously towards His work, whether it be through financial contributions, service, or other offerings. When we give from a willing heart, it is a reflection of our love and obedience to God, and it allows us to be a part of His work and blessings.
