I used Dupli-Color primer, then sprayed it with Tamiya Silver Leaf. For the base color I used Tropical Glitz "Cosmic Orange" which has beautiful flake, then I used Lazy-Modeler flame masks. For the flames I airbrushed Tamiya Clear Red & Blue Acrylic paints. I sprayed with Car-Rep 2K Clear and things took a turn for the worse. I followed the cans directions and let it cure for 24 hours, had a lot of orange peel and I noticed micro hairline spider cracks in some spots. I wet sanded the body and knocked down the orange peel and it looked ok, but things went crazy terrible when I polished it with Tamika Polishing compounds, the Car-Rep 2K wrinkled the flames and other areas on the body. I suggest Do Not use Car-Rep 2K on your models, I'm sure it works well for real cars and motorcycles etc.. But it doesn't like Tamiya products at all!

I'm going to build this kit again but next time I'm gonna use Splash Paints 2K or Mecha Empire 2K and do her right.
