Make sense of the following:
0 greater than 2, 2 greater than 5, 5 greater than 0.

Answer:

This is one of those Lateral Thinking puzzles !

The tricky part of this problem is that it is not mathematical at all.
Since as we can already see that the inequalities 0 greater than 2 and 2 greater than 5 don't make sense.

This is a symbolical representation of the the game of rock, paper scissors represented by the number of fingers used to form each symbol with your hand.

So.. 0 fingers (rock) is greater than 2 fingers (scissors) which is better than 5 fingers (paper) and paper then beats rock.

Now you know! Next time you see equations that don't make logical sense try to cross reference with non-mathematical ideas for inspiration.
