Nirvana Violin Lyrics: Man Who Sold The World Cover

Описание к видео Nirvana Violin Lyrics: Man Who Sold The World Cover

"Thanks, that was a David Bowie song"

The Man Who Sold the World was first released in 1970 by Bowie but vaulted to widespread prominence after Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and the rest of the grunge band Nirvana covered it live during their MTV Unplugged appearance in 1993 and included it in their "MTV Unplugged in New York" album the following year.

Bowie never provided a direct interpretation of the lyrics, but common interpretations include an individual dealing with multiple personalities or identity crisis and/or themes drawn from the poem "Antigonish" by William Hughes Mearns or the horror fantasy writings of H.P. Lovecraft.

Of late, the surviving members of Nirvana have teamed up with Beck on vocals to perform this song. My cover is done on solo violin over 2 tracks, with the lower track mainly playing bass line and guitar riff and the upper covering the vocals. The ghostly last instrumental section played up an octave to reinforce the haunting melody.
