India granted Bangladesh transshipment facilities in 2020, allowing the use of Indian territory to export goods to third countries. However, on April 8, 2025, India abruptly revoked the privilege.
Experts say this is a major setback for Bangladesh's export structure. It may increase costs, delay shipments, and create business uncertainty, affecting regional trade with countries like Nepal and Bhutan as well.
