...Source: https://driveteslacanada.ca/news/tesl... Transcript: "According to Drive Tesla, Tesla has released its latest Full Self-Driving software, version 12.4, to employees. The new update, included in software update 2024.9.5, introduces 'Vision-Based Attention Monitoring,' using the in-cabin camera to monitor driver attentiveness. This reduces the need for the steering wheel nag in certain scenarios but does not eliminate it entirely.

The cabin camera must not be blocked, and there must be sufficient lighting. If these conditions are met, the system will not use the steering wheel nag. However, if the camera cannot confirm driver attentiveness, traditional torque-based monitoring remains in effect. Older vehicles without a cabin camera will still have the steering wheel nag in all situations.

Tesla has also updated its strike system. Previously, drivers could accumulate up to five strikes before FSD and Autopilot features were disabled for a week. Now, one strike is removed for every seven-day period without a new strike. This gradual reduction makes it harder to earn a suspension.

FSD v12.4 is currently only available to employees. A public rollout is expected later this week if internal testing goes well. Notably, FSD v12.4 is part of update 2024.9.5, not the spring update 2024.14, which includes new visualizations, a new media player, Audible support, and a preview of Sentry Mode events."
