Steps:
1. Open your document in Google Docs.
2. Click the menu at the top: Insert ▸ Page numbers.
3. A small menu will appear with 4 common options:

5. Page numbers in the bottom-right corner
6. Page numbers starting from the second page (useful if you don’t want numbers on the title page)
7. Page numbers in the footer starting on page 2
8. Click the option you want.
9. To customize further (like starting from a different number):
