1 Year Timelapse - DIY Restoration & Renovation Of My Old Derelict Cottage & Homestead In Ireland

Morrigan's Cottage has officially made it through her first year. And what a year it's been. Just another year to add under the belt of this 200+ Year old Irish Cottage

Looking back through all of these clips, I'm so impressed with myself for surviving it. Considering I've never picked up a tool or paintbrush in my life, to see where I started to where I am now is madness. I'm so proud of myself for not having a complete mental break down, especially since I thought a rewire and new heating system was all this house would need...

It was so nice to look back over everything that's been done. From the first lick of white paint, to the pulling down of the moldy cement. It's been such a ride this first year, and I haven't even moved in yet. To say this has been the biggest challenge would be an understatement. I've driven over 13k KMs this year back and forth to the house. Likely hundreds of hours behind the wheel, going up and down every weekend. Days in the cold damp house. All to get to this point of surviving the first year.

The house has told me what it needs and what it wants to flourish and survive another 200 years. I'm excited to have the builders come in January/February to get the guts of the "big" projects done. Then I can move in full time and get to work on the nicer things like decorating, getting the homestead up and running, and fostering some animals in need.

When I first started recording a year ago, I didn't think anyone at all would watch these videos. I was uploading them for myself to look back in the future. But I'm so glad to have found the support from everyone online. Thanks so much for sticking with me and the girls, and I cannot wait to show you all the exciting stuff to come in year 2!
