(13 Aug 1951) The Duke of Edinburgh received a very warm welcome at the McEwan Hall, where he was to receive a degree from Edinburgh University. He was presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Law. The degree was conferred by the Chancellor of the University, the Marquess of Linlithgow. Afterwards, the Duke delivered his presidential address to the British Association for the Advancement of Science.
