Gol Khanom are Afghan swirl dumplings with a delicious spiced filling, steamed until super soft and juicy. They’re topped with two irresistible sauces: a fresh, cooling yogurt sauce and a rich, flavorful chickpea-based sauce layered over the top. A true comfort food , better than any other dumpling and unforgettable at first bite!
For the Dough
Plain flour: 3 cups
Eggs (medium size): 1
Salt: 1 teaspoon
Water: less than a cup
 
For the Filling
Minced meat (mixed beef and lamb/lamb with about 20% fat): 500g
Onions: 10
Pointed pepper: 2
Chili (optional): 2
Fresh coriander
Olive oil: 4 tablespoon
Red chili flakes, coriander seed powder, homemade spiced chili, black pepper, salt: 1 teaspoon
For Boiling
Three cups of water and half teaspoon salt
 
For the Sauce
Oil: 100 ml
Cooked split chickpeas: half cup
Garlic: 2 cloves
Tomato sauce: 350 g
Salt / paprika powder / turmeric / coriander seeds / chili masala: half teaspoon
 
For the Yogurt Sauce
Yogurt: 500 g
Garlic: 2 cloves
Salt / dried mint
