Extra Watermelon Growing Tips:
Watermelon seeds need warm temperatures to germinate, at least 18c (65f).

If you have a short Summer growing season, you can get the seedlings going somewhere warm indoors so they're ready to be transplanted once it's warm enough.

I try to avoid starting them too early in Spring as you want them to continue with their seedling vigor into rapid growth through nice warm Summer weather. They grow especially fast when temperatures are 25c (77f) and above.

You can get varieties that grow and mature faster than others, so have a quick google of your chosen variety to see if you have a growing season long enough to suit the amount of days that variety needs to mature. For example: Gold in Gold variety matures around 70 days from transplant & Moon & Stars needs a longer season at 85 days from transplant.

Watermelon seeds can also be sown directly once the temperature is warm enough outside, and works best if you live somewhere with a season that caters for the full length of time that these take to grow.

-Above all else, if it doesn't work out well the first time you grow them, have another go next year! I've failed multiple times growing them in the past, but this is the best way to learn, grow and become a better gardener!

Wishing you all the best with the growing, and let me know how it goes! :)
