Sony a6300 Tutorial: Face Registration and Order Exchange

In order to make this feature work start by going into the camera menu, to the Camera Settings Gear Tab and down to Face Registration.

The way Face Registration works is you record someone’s face and it will memorize them. You can save up to eight faces at one time and shift their order depending on priority.

This feature is excellent if you’re a wedding photographer. Perhaps you Face Register the bride and place her in position one, the groom in position two and maybe the maid of honor in position three. Then, during the reception, in a crowded area, the Sony a6300 will automatically focus on the bride when it spots her. If the bride is not around, the camera will focus on the face registered in position two, in our example that would be the groom.
