Описание к видео Why Did Iran Collapse in Just 6 Days During World War II?

In August 1941, Iran collapsed in just six days after British and Soviet forces entered the country.
It wasn’t because Iran was weak, unprepared, or already at war.

This video explains why a modern, centralized, and formally neutral state fell so quickly during World War II — and why the answer has less to do with battlefield defeat than with logistics, infrastructure, and political design.

As Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union, the war transformed into a fight for survival measured not only in armies, but in supply routes, railways, oil, and reliability. Iran suddenly became essential — not as an ally, but as a corridor.
What followed was not a traditional conquest, but a rapid operation designed to remove uncertainty and seize control of systems rather than territory.

This documentary explores how Iran’s own modernization under Reza Shah — meant to strengthen sovereignty — paradoxically made the country more vulnerable in a total war driven by logistics. It examines why Iran chose accommodation over prolonged resistance, and how preserving the state ultimately required surrendering strategic autonomy.

This is not a story about military weakness.
It’s a story about how modern states collapse when the rules of war change faster than political systems can adapt.
