Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, is without doubt among the top 10 most surreal sights we've ever seen with own eyes. The contemporary city of Agrigento feels a bit dusty and tired under the Sicilian sun, but the reward comes when entering the temple area, being one of the most striking examples of ancient Greek architecture, dating 2500 years back in time.

The area is large enough for you to easily wonder about for a day, feeling like time stopped when you stepped in. It is hard to imagine how it might have looked, even if you stop at all information points and read diligently.
Even though the most common sight is enormous stone blocks "randomly" laying on the ground, there are parts still preserved to a degree which would absolutely amaze you.

If you are visiting outside of the main tourist season you stand a fair chance of walking around and breathing in the atmosphere quite freely. This video, is to share with humility for this magical place, what we experienced being the highlights. Enjoy!
