Two weeks ago I went to Amsterdam Schiphol to film some crosswind landings during a Storm. I was able to catch 2 Airbus A380 croswind landingds during my 8 hour stay at Schiphol. Wind gusts up to 40 knots made it difficult for the pilots to land the planes on the famous Polderbaan that day. The other runway which is usually used during these crosswind situations was closed due to constrution works, that` s why most heavy planes had to use the Polderbaan for the landing with 90° crosswinds. The evening flight of Emirates was even operated by the special painted Airbus A380 in the "Visit Dubai" livery.

Amsterdam Schiphol is one of my favorite airports. You have almost no fences around the airport and at some places only a small river seperates the airport area from the normal area. People can just walk along the runway and enjoy the view on the landing planes.
