Signifying the 'Gems Of Haryana' Category Awardee, it gives us immense pleasure to announce Devika Malik as Sports Achievers Awardee for the Third Edition of HGA 2023.

Devika Malik was born with hemiplegia, a condition in which one side of the body is paralysed. She overcame her disability to become an international para-athlete, a psychological counsellor, an International Disability Inclusion Advocate and TEDx Speaker, and a social entrepreneur - co-founder of the Wheeling Happiness Foundation. Devika had represented India in 100 m and 200 m sprints in the T37 category in Paralympics.

The foundation, Wheeling Happiness promotes abilities beyond disability and fosters self-reliance and emotional well-being by providing artificial limbs and assistive devices to more than 550 beneficiaries. The foundation believes in the transformative power of sport and has assisted over 50 people with disabilities to become athletes.

Team Haryana Garima Awards is more than glad to honour her capacity and talent which earns a reputation for this state as well as this country.
