This extraordinary documentary shows how hundreds of thousands of foreigners from all over the world were secretly carried off to the Soviet forced labour camps, Gulags, and incinerated. It is said that there is no nation on this planet that was not represented in the Gulag, thus Americans, Japanese, French, English, Italians, German, Swiss and Chinese were all part of the ZEK the Russian term for Gulag prisoners. The film reveals an atrocious crime, and a period that has been overlooked by history. The filmmaker followed the footsteps of a handful of survivors as they went back to a few camps. The recent opening of the secret KGB archive attests to the unimaginable scale of the international Gulag. It is said there were approx. 30 million victims, but the actual number will never be known. A written instruction issued by Lenin in 1918 ordered for the random imprisonment of foreigners in the country.
