In August of 1964, three towns in Sonora, Suaqui, Batuc and Tepupa were flooded by the Plutarco Elias Dam "The Novillo" and its inhabitant were uprooted and forced to leave their native soil. Some formed new settlements, others moved to Hermosillo or other cities in Sonora, and other migrated to United States; we are their descendants.
