Here are the not-so-obvious-to-me things I learned while removing the differential bushings on a 2004 BMW 330ci. I'm in the process of doing a swap from the stock 2.93 diff to a 3.46 diff from an auto 325i and thought it would be a good time to replace the bushings.

The rear bushing probably needed replacement. The two front bushings were in good shape though. One thing I noticed, however, is that the bolt holes in all the bushings were oblong which would seem to cause some looseness. I think the new poly bushings might tighten things up a bit.
