Public interest announcement: The Federal Trade Commission has placed an alert informing people of immigration scams, specifically fake attorneys, fake lawyers and law firms appearing on social media, trying to defraud people.

I am asking you that you are very careful when you interact on all the social media platforms, and you stay alert and become wary of any person calling themselves an attorney, or a law firm that is guaranteeing you work permits, green cards, or citizenships or any type of immigration benefits, or they are asking you to pay them upfront through Zelle or Western Union or they are telling you that you will have a virtual meeting with a USCIS officer on WhatsApp, or other ways of communicating, such as Zoom.

While it's true that USCIS can hold virtual appointments, these are typically scheduled through the myUSCIS accounts, and they are just not randomly scheduled on WhatsApp, or Zoom or all sorts of other platforms.
