APA Skill Level 3 Lesson: Finding the center of the cue ball

Описание к видео APA Skill Level 3 Lesson: Finding the center of the cue ball

Karen Scovie has played plenty of pool and is a good shotmaker but now she is playing in the APA league at a skill level 3 and wants to get better. To get better at pool means one thing and only one thing and that is to work on fundamentals. From the start, Karen finds she is consistently hitting the cue ball off center. In this video PBIA instructor Jim Brauker helps her to diagnose why she is not hitting th center of the cue ball. There appear to be two main problems. 1. her bridge distance is too long and this reduces the accuracy of her stroke. 2. She is gripping the cue ball lightly enough but her thumb rides on top of the stick, which does not allow it to follow a perfectly straight line, which is absolutely required for a consistent pool stroke. So this lesson focuses mainly on bridge and grip, and will compliment the fact that Karen already has a very good instinct and visualization for pocketing balls.
