The 767-foot ship "Philip R. Clarke" and the 1000-foot ship "American Century" passed under the Aerial Lift Bridge in freezing Duluth, MN!

The story is definitely about the ice and cold during this special two-ship video! This is the first time I have recorded ice covering ships since winter has started. This was the coldest day by far as winter conditions recently took over Duluth, Minnesota. The temperature was -2°F with the wind chill factored in as these two ships passed through Duluth's ship canal. I zoomed in on the structure above the bow of the American Century and it was totally covered in ice, almost looking like a miniature ice castle. Also, you will see thick ice covering the ship's railings along the deck. The ship blasted a loud horn salute to the bridge as well.

The ship Philip R. Clarke waited for the American Century to depart and it arrived looking very beautiful. The captain actually came out of the pilothouse and yelled to the crowd saying the ship had a frozen horn but they would give it a try. It was so cool to hear the weak horn trying to blast due to the cold and eventually, it did break loose from the cold and blasted a powerful salute to the bridge.
