Kobe Proesmans is a Belgian percussionist, drummer, teacher, and composer. He initially started as a violinist but discovered the world of drums at the age of 16. He studied drums for 3 years at the Jazz Studio in Antwerp, while his passion for percussion and sound effects steadily grew. Later, he delved into the realm of Latin American percussion at the ISA in Havana, Cuba. Kobe has collaborated with various artists, including Gabriel Rios, Zita Swoon, Arno, Bart Peeters, Raymond Van het Groenewoud, Tony Allen, KODO, Anga Miguel Diaz, El Tattoo del Tigre, Baloji, Adamo, Zap Mamma, The Colorist Orchestra, Whodads, Flip Kowlier, and Vansina Orchestra, among many others. He is a co-founder of The Colorist Orchestra, an eight-piece chamber pop ensemble that explores new registers and timbres for popular music using primarily unorthodox instruments. In addition to his musical work, Kobe is involved in theater productions and teaches the dance masterclass "Percussive Thinking" to dancers and musicians at the Royal Conservatory of Dance in Antwerp. Currently, he is collaborating with choreographer Iris Bouche on the production "Rizoom!" for Opera-Ballet-Vlaanderen.
