Maria Armour comes to us from Bridgewater State University, where for the last 13 years she has been an instructor and Natural History Collection curator in the Dept of Biological Sciences. She received her undergraduate degree at Southampton College and master’s degree from Long Island University. It was during this time when she discovered her passion for bats through conducting research on the evolution and morphology of bat wings at the American Museum of Natural History. Now, with almost 20 years of working with bats, Maria’s interests span from functional morphology to evolution and conservation of our regional bats. Maria also holds the position of Wildlife Consultant at Advanced Renewable Concept Industries – a pioneering renewable energy company located in Bridgewater. She is very excited to share her passion and knowledge for bats with the Wildlands community.
