Removing the A/C Blower Motor – 2014 Tesla Model S
1. Safety First
o Power down the car from the touchscreen (“Power Off” under Controls).
o Open the frunk and disconnect the 12V battery to avoid accidental blower activation.
2. Access the Passenger Footwell
The blower motor sits behind the glovebox, above the passenger’s feet.
o Remove the passenger-side lower dash trim panel (the carpeted kick panel under the glovebox). This panel is held in by clips and a couple of Torx screws.
o Disconnect the footwell courtesy light wiring when you lower the panel.
o Remove the side carpet/trim panel along the center console on the passenger side for better clearance.
o If needed, loosen the glovebox lower trim cover for extra working space.
3. Remove the Cabin Air Filter Housing
o Behind the lower dash panel, locate the plastic cover over the cabin air filter.
o Remove the screws/clips and pull out the cabin air filter. This exposes the blower motor housing.
4. Disconnect Wiring
o Unplug the blower motor electrical connector.
5. Remove the Blower Motor
o Take out the Torx screws holding the blower motor to the HVAC box.
o Carefully rotate and pull the blower motor assembly out of the footwell area. Space is tight, so angle it out gently to avoid damaging the fan blades.
6. Reinstallation
o Position and secure the blower motor back in place.
o Reconnect wiring.
o Reinstall the cabin air filter and housing cover.
o Reattach the side trim panel, lower dash kick panel, and reconnect the courtesy light.
o Reconnect the 12V battery and power the car back on to test blower operation.

⚠️ Tip: Tesla panels use a mix of clips and Torx fasteners — a trim tool set helps avoid breaking clips. Keep track of all screws; some are hidden under carpet flaps.
