Central Oregon Hiking: Lava & Lakes in Cascade Range of Bend

We explore Bend, located in Central Oregon. Watch us at glistening lakes, the majestic mountains of the Cascade Range, and stunning remnants of extinct volcanoes at Lava Butte.

Check out the glistening, turquoise-colored Devils Lake, a stone’s throw away from Mt. Bachelor as well as Elk Lake and Lucky Lake as well one of our favorite hikes so far has been a steady climb up Lava Butte. This volcanic hike was a once-active volcanic area that now looks like the surface of the moon. In fact, it’s been a training ground for astronauts preparing for their first lunar walk.

This video is filmed near the small mountain town of Bend, Oregon, and all of its surroundings, which are studded with glistening lakes and lots of lava remnants.
