About the Oxford Mindfulness Centre
We are an internationally recognised centre of excellence at Oxford University. Our mission is to prevent depression and enhance human potential through the therapeutic use of mindfulness. It has been at the forefront of research and development in the field of mindfulness and has extended its reach to include training and education, clinical services and engagement and advocacy, promoting the benefits of mindfulness globally. Along with our colleagues from Cambridge and Massachusetts we developed mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), an approach that is widely used around the world.

What makes us different from others is that we conduct world leading clinical & neuroscience research on mindfulness combining modern science and ancient wisdom. We were the first in the world to offer a Master’s degree in MBCT. Our clients and students receive best-in-class and up to date local and international expertise on proven Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy in a variety of formats that best suit them, sitting between evidence-based research and contemplative traditions dating back at least 2500 years. The Oxford Mindfulness Centre is a resource for curious minds who seek increased knowledge (benefits of MBCT through research), new MBCT approaches (e.g. in youth, carers, University students), expert trainers, courses, clinical practices throughout the UK and collaborative partnerships for the sharing of knowledge and experience locally and internationally in our network.
