Trouble on the Tramway

Better late than never, here's my Christmas special story for this year! This video was started before Christmas last year as I intended to get it out then, but I'm glad I waited because I think the final result is stronger for it.

This story was inspired by the real life story of how Toby got his bell sound in the original TV series. The story goes that the show's crew went to a local pub called the Nag's Head and recorded the sound of the bar's last call bell, and this sound became Toby's bell in the show. The other main inspiration for this story was the piece of music used in the opening of the episode; a cover of the Beatles' 'Penny Lane' in the style of Toby's theme by Isiah / HKPorterBEDT / One Tram Band, called 'Toby Lane'. It conjured an image in my mind of Toby travelling down a tramline much like the real-life basis of Toby's line, the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway. So that's where the story idea came from, but it took days of effort and the talents of several wonderful people to bring it into being. I'd like to especially thank my voice actors for knocking it out of the park once again, and I'll link to all of them below. I'd also like to thank everyone who provided music and sound effects to use in my videos, they are invaluable resources and it is very kind that you allow people to use them, I'll always be very grateful.

And one last note on this video's story - yes I know Toby's crew shouldn't be drinking on the job. Maybe the rules on such matters were more flexible back in the year this story is set, or maybe Toby's crew were just drinking virgin cocktails. I'll leave it up to you to fill in the blanks.
