Looking for the Light

Everyday, it's the same
Quicksilver in my head.
Every morning, I stare at Dorian's face
When mine withers instead.
This sparkle in your eyes
I buried long ago
And I feel sorry
But I guess it has survived
'Cause it's begging me to come again
With its tiny little hand.

Ten leaves of weakness in a palm,
When clenched together, make a fist
To break the prisons of our past,
To protect or to resist.

So what about we go someday somewhere
Where our scars would be no reason to fight ?
And even if I fall, I'll say how great it was
To be looking for the light at your side.

Echoes of a voice
In the fortress of the skin
Where I grew up alone
And sworn that I would sing
Time line is folding up
I'll meet you at the crossing
Where roots equal the top
And I won't let you down.
