On Nov. 7th the city lost the opportunity to replace ward 6 school board member Dan Bergeron with Jon DiPietro. Failing to do so, the district is left with the antics of Mr Bergeron for another 2 years. This video from Monday shows the continued efforts of Mr Bergeron to drive meetings off-topic and into a non sequiturs that have nothing to do with issues currently being discussed. In this clip, the Finance SubCommittee is working on a motion to freeze spending so it does not go into the red before the end of the year. Undeterred, Mr Bergeron starts talking about taking polls and getting feedback and making the results available to members of the board. While this might be good prior to spending this has nothing to do with the motion on the floor. Even Dr. Vargas reminds him on two separate occasions what the goal of the vote is. The end of this video and the exchange with Chairman Richard H. Girard​ makes one wonder if the member can stay on topic and/or not inject his own agenda. He is also wasting the board's time with things that could be addressed offline in a one-on-one conversation with the superintendent.
