Government says it will scale down the levels of VIP protection by half beginning July this year. The interior ministry indicating the reduction is expected to free up nearly 10,000 security officers to be deployed into protecting life and property of ordinary citizens. But the security measures have rattled a section of parliamentarians who have vowed to oppose a reduction in their protection detail
