Where Value Lies | Roanne Gonzales | TEDxUTCC

If you teach someone to fish, you feed that person for a lifetime. But wouldn’t it be better if, instead of teaching how to fish, we explore the skills that someone has already have? Volunteering at Women’s Creative Hub, a place where refugees, migrants, and local Australian women gather to empower each other, Roanne Gonzales has learnt that everyone has something valuable to offer. While attending school full-time at Macquarie University, Roanne Gonzales was the President of Enactus, a global student organisation that brings together business leaders and students whose purpose is to enable progress through entrepreneurial action. Her team and she won national competition and represented Australia at the Enactus World Cup 2020. She was also a Client Service Officer at Federal Circuit Court of Australia. Roanne is currently a 2022 New Colombo Plan Scholar living in Bangkok, Thailand. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
